many states do not even allow you to hold your phone if you are driving.
do you think you should be fined hundreds of dollars for touching your phone while driving?
?.
If you are going to have rules surrounding driving (speed limits, stopping at red lights) then it would make sense to address other actions that can cause harm to others such as being on the cell while driving.
While I'm against rules that don't impact others such as helmets for cyclists and seat beats, I'm all for reducing the number of reckless folks on the road.
Incidentally, I'm not against using safety devices and would use them with or without a law. Just don't think the law should force you to do things for "your own good". If you don't want to wear a seat belt and get killed as a result, that's on you.
i was wondering how many of you that are ex-elders have actually read any da letters.
or did you just accept the synopsis given by the secretary or whoever opens the mail?
as an ms the closest i ever got was "he's an apostate.
In my limited experience (10 years) I actually never had anyone DA

I think in the case of do not calls, since the householder is specifically making the request not to call again, that would give permission to make note of at least the address. Otherwise, how would they be able to avoid the house?
Agree this will be a major change in how JWs conduct FS. Without the ability to take notes on RVs, I just don't see how you could effectively conduct one.
additionally - if this shunning rule was removed and everyone was made aware of the dirty secrets of the org.
csa-arc / un membership / malawi - mexico contrast / etc.).
would those leaving be higher?.
There would always be a portion that would shun whether it's official policy or not. Especially those who have spent their entire lives with that mindset. Over time, there would be a general relaxing which would lead more people to feel free to walk away. I'm PIMO and would walk away if I thought my family wouldn't shun me. Honestly, I'm pretty sure that most of them would not. My MIL definitely would which would bother my wife.
Immediately, I'm not sure it would even be 10% because the practice of shunning is so ingrained.
this is my first post.
i am physically in and mentally out.
well i will not be offering a tl/dr version as that would be too difficult and it would also be an oversimplification of how i got to see the man behind the curtain.. my story begins at the 2016 regional convention of jehovah's witnesses.
Welcome! Looking forward to hearing more from you. Hopefully your wife will come along with you. Just don't overshare all at once. Drip pieces of information slowly.
we all know the society would love to get rid of all the problems caused by clinging to 1914 and all they claimed it meant for the last 100+ years.. it looks like they are laying the groundwork for easing away from the whole concept of 1914. this would also let them do away with the ridiculous "overlapping generation" bullcrap.
what a diaper load that has been.... anyway, the following is from their super secret marching orders for april, 2019. draw your own conclusions.... "3.

thetruelie,
Welcome to the forum! Look forward to your contributions
i was howling watching cedars latest video of tm111 buying a dozen bottles of scotch ((maccallans scotch).
you can't write this stuff.
right, i'm now off to buy a bottle of maccallans 😂..
Executive leadership of corporations other than tiny family run businesses do not purchase corporate gifts on their own. They have assistants who perform that sort of work. That explanation doesn't make any sense. I'm only middle management and I have an admin that would do that. There's no way a GB member is purchasing corporate gifts on behalf of the WT.
We don't know what Tony was really doing. Everything I'm reading here is pure speculation.

I think BourneIdentity summarized the issue well. Honestly, while this reinforces in our minds what hypocrites the WT leadership are, this will not make one bit of difference to the rank and file. I've been chuckling at the memes I've seen but at the end of the day, the average JW will chalk this up to Tightpants Tony being a regular dude who was stocking up on his favorite scotch that was on sale.
The optics do look bad and he just got unlucky. Of all the things he's responsible for, this is the least of his "sins".

While this is certainly an April Fool's prank, it's a good one.
